They work on public, residential, commercial, and industrial structures as well as roads and bridges. Construction managers collaborate with engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. They prepare cost estimates, manage schedules, apply for permits, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Most work is performed on construction sites with frequent office time for planning and coordination.
